Latvian mythology

Latvian mythology is quite old and it is impossible to track to the time when it was workshiped widely. First written information about it can be tracked back to AD 98, when Roman Tacitus wrote about worship of a goddess-mother in the Baltic region. Later in 12-13th century Christianization started and forcibly Latvian mythology lost its position. Thought, got to say that many of Latvian mythology traditions mixed with Christianity. For example, Jāņi (Midsummer night, summer solstice) The festival's current date has shifted a few days from 21 June/22 June when the summer solstice actually takes place due to its somewhat incongruous association with Saint John the Baptist's feast day, which falls on 24 June. Still, traditions of Jāņi contain no reference to Christianity or any Christian symbolism.

Also many other "christian" celebrations holds "latvian" names and their traditions contains lot of references to Latvian mythology - Christmas is Ziemassvētki (Winter festival), Easter is Lieldienas (Big/Great-days).

Got to say that there aren't written religious texts for Latvian mythology, it got passed down in form of folk songs, sayings and stories. Only in 19th century all those folk songs got collected and clasified. And basing on them you can see in what and who old latvians believed. Because of that, it is hard to say which was the main deity. Some basic info about them you can find HERE. Thought I got to mention, that there is no purely evil deity in Latvian mythology. There is Velns (Devil), but he got his evil side only in the influence of christianity. Otherwise he was rather mischievous, silly, not that smart guy, who often got outwitted by Dievs (God) or his nasty plans failed. There were few evil spirits, but they were rather minor.
Very widespread was "Mothers' cult" - almost everything had Mother (Mother of the Wind, Mother of the Wood, Mother of the Souls and so on).

I must say that Latvian mythology is kind, respectful and kinda witty minded. It highly values family, work, bread. It shows high respect deceased and death. Death is never showed as evil creature. She is Mother of the Souls, who takes the souls of dead people and brings them to "After sun".
Interesting fact - reading noticed about deceaced people you will pretty much never see "died" or something like that. Mostly there will be text how XXX moved on, went to after sun, will never walk among us and so on. And probably the "grave culture" is one of the best in the world... People take care after the graves carefully. Old ladies will even refuse to move away to have easier life as then they won't be able to visit the graves.

Being lazy is something bad... Work must be done either you like it or not. And it must be done well. People who are willing to work for 120% are valued highly. Besides - no work is shameful as long as you do it honestly. Watching how other works while you lazy around... that's bad.
Bread/food - is result of other person's hard work. It is disrespectful to mistreat food, play with it or throw out.

Religions and mythologies

I have always found religions and mythologies as interesting subjects. Even though I do count as lutheran, I can't say that I am a believer. I am more realistic and practical in this matter and I like to figure out how they fit in "bigger picture". Even if we aren't very religious, it is part of our life, culture and makes us who we are. While history crafts our "nation's mentality", religion crafts our believes and values.

Even if our family isn't religious, they still teaches us to not steal, to not lie, to be kind to others, to be helpful, to not be prideful... and what does christianity teaches us? Pretty much the same. Also for Latvians there is latvian mythology... don't waste food; if you drop piece of bread, then you have to pick it up and kiss it as appology; respect elderly; don't be afraid from work...

For centuries our parents, their parents and even their parents' parents where thought values which changed only slightly. And these values doesn't change that easily, no matter how much time passes, no matter if we continue to believe or no. Latvian mythology is almost like a fairy tale now, but we are still following few rules and sayings, for example, killing spiders are bad as they bring luck to home. So if you want to understand other people, you got to know their religious background (and history). Without knowing it, you can't say that you understand them.

New browsers

Seems I need to add a tab for computers after all :)

Yesterday with Windows Update I got IE9 and I ended up upgrading my Firefox to 4th version as well. Seems like I will start to compare them as lately I was getting really displeased with the browsers I had. Firefox was eating too much of ram, Chrome was eating too much of physical memory, IE.... IE is just.... IE (slow, unsafe, bothersome).
I don't know if Chrome has a newer version out, but I actually don't care as I am not going back to it.

I will inform you about my observations over both of them. I must say that both new versions left really nice impression on me... and IE9 isn't that slow either!

Rainy day with blank aftertaste

You have a long awaited interview planed for today. You have tried to get hold of this person for a month and at last, just few days ago you managed to get his private phone number, call him and arrange a meeting. It is at 12.30, but you have to be in the town at 10.00 am already as you need to borrow a recorder. Meaning you have to get up at 8.30 am.

But lately you have had quite stressful time, so for more than week you are having restless sleep with lot of small nightmares and nasty dreams. Also you don't want to be late for the meeting at 10.00am as you have made that person to wait before and you know that he will need the recorder on the same day. That is kinda making you uneasy... and that's the least you need... You wake up on 5.30am, then on 7.00am, 7.30am, 8.ooam, 8.15am and last 15min you spend staring in the ceiling.

Cause of all the restless sleep you have lost all appetite as well. You eat a sandwich for breakfast and then spend 20min slowly drinking coffee to wash away that nauseating feeling you get after eating lately. And suddenly you understand that you have only 10min left to get ready and leave! So you quickly get ready, rush out and the tram stop understand that it has left just bit ago, so you will have to wait for next one and might be late. Damn! Well... at least weather is nice. Cloudy, but rather warm and pleasant.

At the end meeting place gets changed by him and you even have to wait on him. So it is all good. You decide to meet at 2.00pm and if you finish earlier, then just bring the recorder to the concert hall.

As you watch him leave, you understand that you have 2.5hrs to waste till the interview. So you decide to walk around the old town, go to some shops. But you aren't allowed to buy anything big as you can't go to interview with big bags, right? You get some bit fancy dark chocolate for the person who got you the phone number of the person you needed to interview. He used to be your professor and your bothered him in his free time, so least you can do is to bring him a small thank-you gift (10.12am). You remember about the mall nearby and decide to go look there for some calming tea. You get some red african tea called "African passion". The shop keeper told it has calming effect.

10.33am - you are out of mall. 10.45 - you get bored from walking around the old town and decide to get the your pass to the house of Parliament. 11.00 - they haven't ordered one for you yet, but after a call you still get yours made. At 11.20 it starts to rain.... Till 12.15 you go from one shop to another, go twice back to the same mall, get on nerves of some shopkeepers with "I am just looking" and you wonder how come you aren't bored to death yet. 12.25 - you are back at house of Parliament and get told by assistant that you will have to wait till 12.40 for him. At 12.50 assistant gets an sms from him asking if there is a possibility to move interview to hour later (1.40pm).

You can't be sure that you will be able to give back the recorder on time, so you decide to take a risk and use your phone for recording. You go to french cafe nearby and test your phone's abilities to record while you have some cup of coffee and chocolate cake. Afterwards you go give back recorder and slowly go back to Parliament house while it is still raining. He comes on time but while he is talking you notice that he doesn't have too deep knowledge about the matter you are asking. While moving hands he kinda sneaks a peak at his clock. Means he wants this to get finished sooner. You try to ask him questions you need and to which he could answer. At some cases he asks his assistant for some details, you get given some notes. Soon you part your ways. Interview lasted only for 13min. The amount of information you need is really small. You sigh as you leave and wonder what was the point to try to get him to answer few questions... Was there a point to get stressed overs this matter, if it was kinda useless anyway?

Well at least it is done and with kinda blank and wasted aftertaste you go home....

Your results of this day: Calming tea which doesn't seem to have any effect, New headset with slightly too short cord, Interview which doesn't tell anything much....

Troubles with computers 2

My headset died... Talk about bad luck with computers.
So within 2 weeks I will have changed ram, upgraded hard drive, changed video card and changed headset.
What will be next? Mouse? or my beloved keyboard.

It is ergonomic, but not way too much which actually makes them uncomfortable then.
Keys are rather sensitive, so I can type lightly and quick without using too much force on them. And in the result it is quite silent as well! Only Space is loud compared to other keys. I often stay up quite late when everyone is sleeping, so it is perfect that I can type quietly without disturbing anyone.
Another great feature it is Split-Resistant. Sounds funny, but it is really useful. I am slightly clumsy with my hands - I have split lemonade and coffee on my keyboard. But it never got inside, it stayed on the surface so I could easily and quickly wipe it away without damaging it.

As for Special Hotkeys... I don't really use them. In all these years I have it, I can count on my fingers how many times I used them. Actually I once did try to get used to multimedia hotkeys, but it wasn't natural for me. Only Hotkey I often use is shortcut to Calculator.

This is a perfect keyboard for me! When I was looking for a new keyboard, I had a few things I wanted for it - to be quiet, ergonomic, simple. Now if I looked for a new one, I would also add Split-Resistance! (Actually price did matter too... it was cheap as well :P)

Troubles with computers

I probably got one of the worst 1st april day jokes ever. My pc played it with me - video card crashed. After few days it got fixed and I was able to use my pc again, but at that moment I didn't really feel like laughing.

Then I started to think... I get small problems with computers too often...
~My flash kinda died on the day I had to hand in one of my papers at uni. I got the IT guys help me. They worked for hour with my flash and recovered the file I needed. I was really thankful to them, but as they told me it isn't their job to do something like this, I never came back...
~At some point my video card's coolers started to die. First change lasted for half a year, but every next one lasted less and less. Last one lasted longer... but that was rather big fan put on weird construction... luckily it lasted till the card died
~I learned that pulling wires/cards out and putting them back in can make computer work again, even if it refused before. I learned how pc is built cause of that....
~Ctrl+Alt+Delete - solves most of messed up things
~When your screen starts to turn pink, then you don't think it is cute. You know it is time to change monitor's cord/wire.
~I changed 4-5 headsets with in half a year and the shortest time one of them lasted was few days. 1st one - died one side of it, 2nd - mic died, 3rd - I suddenly stood up and quickly left, while I still had them on ears so it got split into two parts, 4th - I am still using and it has showed some defects already.....

Links I really find interesting

Went through my bookmarks instead and here is what I got:

Eyemaze - Grow games. Before you ran off - those games takes logic to solve them. Pick correct order to find interesting endings. I find them really enjoyable and keep going back to see if the he has made new ones.

Political Cartoons - About USA. Good to see what is happening inside USA and how people there see it. Some are quite amusing and some are quite harsh and straight to the point.

Monitor test - A perfect site to adjust your monitor settings. Lot of options available and easy to use. I love it, though have used it only few times.

Wallcoo (wallpapers) - probably a page with most wallpapers. It has wallpapers about all possible things. Just a small "but" - site is in chinese. They have english version, but I think it much easier to find wallpapers fit to my size in chinese version much easier. Though I don't speak chinese at all.

World Digital Library - A huge site about different historical books, maps, letters, documents and so on. Can browse them by time, location, topic, institution... pretty awesome, I might say!

European Library - Another digital library project. But this involves also pieces of art and exhibitions.

That's it for today - I will add more some other day :) Those aren't all my bookmarks after all

Voice from the nuclear power plant in Fukushima, Japan

Reposted from -http://naokokiyama.blogspot.com/2011/03/voice-from-nuclear-power-plant-in.html

==============Quote==============

This morning, I was forced to be evacuated from the nuclear power plant and finally saw my family at my relative's house. Anyway I am safe now.

"At least you should be in the safe place..." I was told. Then I left the plant crying...

I am really sorry how things went. I know TEPCO (the company name of the plant) bashing but it is also TEPCO that has been working hard without escaping from the radiation and risking the lives. So, please please stop blaming us...

Until yesterday, I had been there in the scene as a TEPCO employee and as a member of the second nuclear power plant. Under the Tsunami warning, we have been working for the recovery in the dark in front of the sea with being prepared to die... The cooling system at the sea side was damaged due to the Tsunami but we all tried to recover it desperately even though we were totally exhausted and barely could walk. If we could not recover the cooling system, the second plant would have exploded as the first one. But we, TEPCO could manage to prevent it.

If we abandoned the plant and escaped, the situation could be much much worse. But we face up to it without running away. The damage by Tsunami was far beyond than everybody could ever think of. If there is only the earthquake, the explosion of the first plant should not have happened.

All of us have been working hard without thinking of their own lives. There are so many rumours but there is little chance to have the radiation to harm your health if you are out of the evacuation area.

The people, who have a chance to harm their health, are the all workers in the plant. They could hardly eat and sleep and back to the scene. Please do not listen to the rumours. Please stay out of the evacuation area. Please do not go out if not needed.

My boyfriend is still working in the plant. All I can do now is just pray for everyone... The workers in the plant must have the most fear. Yet they, TEPCO and related companies are confronting it. Many of them do not even know if their own family is safe but they are still back to the scene and working.

Please do not forget what we are doing. I just want everyone to know how we are doing. Please disclose URL instead of copying the text. All of us in the plant is still fighting. I am really sorry to let you feel anxiety. I am prepared for defamation so I will mention my name. There are people, who work to protect someone else in exchange for their lives.

Even under this situation, seeing these people and working together with them, I am so proud of being an employee of TEPCO, being a member of the second plant.

Global incidents

Yesterday I was shown an interesting web page Global Incident Map. Pretty awesome map if you like to follow incidents happening all over the world. There are shown border issues, diseases, forest fires, earthquakes, terrorism, presidental threat and many other. But I guess that the most hot page there would be about earthquakes. It shows not only big ones, but even small ones of 2.0 or so. Easy to track :)

One blow after another

More I hear about it, more sorry I feel for Japan...

First, an earthquake came which was 5th strongest in this century. It wouldn't be that bad as no other country is as well prepared to earthquakes as Japan. I think here it would be enough with 6.0 or even less to make all buildings to collapse like dominoe. There wasn't even one death from earthquake alone in Japan. Sure, roads and few other places got damaged, but they would get fixed fast.

Second, 15 min after earthquake a tsunami came... Now that caused the most of damage. That was to be blamed for 10,000 deaths (final count is still unknown). That caused huge destruction. That cleaned up shores from houses and any sign of civilization. I was feeling sad about seeing the destruction there, but I knew for sure, that Japan will be fine. They are tough, little people with great spirit and willpower. They are hardworking. They survived WWII and managed to get out of pit to become 3rd biggest economy in the world. Tsunami did a huge blow, but didnt destroy them. What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger!

Third, tsunami caused some problems in nuclear power station. They said that they automatically shuts down when earthquake starts. But soon there were the first announcements made that there are slight problems at Fukushima nuclear plant. And then 1st reactors roof got blown away... People got evacuated... and everything was "under control"... Same problems at next reactor... then another... Radiation levels rising... radiation clouds getting close to Tokyo... people fleeing... fire at Fukushima plant... radiation levels even up... and it is raining too...

Isn't it enough yet? They have learned the lesson - Now they know where their weak place is! That they are kinda prepared for natural disasters, but have to work harder to prevent human caused disasters. It is enough already! They deserve to have a peaceful sleep at nights already!

Now I can't tell for sure that they will be alright anymore. I can just hope that soon it will turn into bad memory. That soon they will build a monument to remember this and give respects to those who died. That next time they will be prepared to face even 20m high tsunami wave... that next time... there will be no next time when they have to suffer like this never ever again...

What is this all about?

My bro went through some Latvian blogs to see what they are about, about what they are writting. He on purpose avoided to comment on mine as I am one of his followers... so I started to think about what is my blog...

It kinda seems it is about everything and nothing at the same time. Let see... jewelery, me, music, morning, me, some quotes, more me complaining... and the entries arent that interesting to read... I wouldnt follow myself...

I need to decide what I am writting about...
Could leave music part there... maybe add some opinion about what is happening around me and world... could leave something what I found interesting too... hmm... will have to think about it...
though other idea was to write short storylines lol seems like I am good at it.

It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life...

Today I am feeling it like I am having a fresh start. Don't know why it is like that and I don't care!
There was lot of new things today:
1. took out of my spring/autumn coat out of shelf. It was time to say goodbye to my fluffy creamy coat
2. wore skirts outside for the first time this year. And I usually don't wear skirt this early yet...
3. got a new and different haircut. I have never had this short hair.

So I was walking down the street on high heels, short skirt, semi long coat, bright blue scarf, new haircut... and I was feeling damn good! Like I had dropping the weight of winter, like I had gotten rid of all winter problems... scratched it all over... to get to things with fresh head, fresh look and new strength!

So sing along!

Birds flying high you know how I feel
Sun in the sky you know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by you know how I feel

It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good...

Japanese shows

My interest about them started when I was little and they were airing Takeshi's Castle on TV. I liked that show a lot and I watched most of series. Funny, this show let me distinguish Japanese from other asians. As a kid I knew about one child policy in China, but didn't really know how many asian countries are there, so when I saw one mother showing picture of her two kids, I thought "Oh, they can have multiple kids and they live on island, so they are different from others"

When that show ended, I didn't get to see any of them for really long time as TV wasn't airing any of them. Only few years ago I started get back to them - watched Downtown's Baku Games, some comedy skits, some variety shows, few talk shows. And after a while I started to notice few things:
1. Competition there is fierce, so new entertainers are actually trying hard to get in center of attention. If it is TV show, then they keep trying to get moved to "Golden Time" just to be noticed by more people. Many of their reactions are overreacted. Cause of this struggle even quite weird characters gets made, some people struggle to get famous for decades!
2. Entertainers are made to be role models. There have been quite many times when if some entertainer does something against law or high morals (drinking before 18, adultery, getting some charges pressed) they get forbidden to show up on shows/TV for a certain time period. Sometimes even gets kicked out.
3. Taking into account those two points and Japanese habit of "keeping face" shows turns out to be pretty interesting and quite silly. How to attract more attention and support, still trying to keep their face?

Just simply awesome evening

I had the greatest evening today in weeks! if not in months!
On the evening of tuesday, me and my best friend decided to go out to our favorite Korean restaurant. I was so looking forward to it that I ended up counting hours! Seriously... I did count... and counted the minutes for the last hour before I could leave.

For whole day I felt like dancing and singing around. So I was really glad to see her. We both had pretty hard time lately, so this meeting was exactly what we needed!
Really good and incredibly tasty meal, lovely place, perfect service, ideal company.. lot of talking. By the time we was done there and left, we was so charged up that we started to joke and full around. As we walked around the old town, me holding in her elbow, I understood that we might look like bit drunk. I guess we was drunk from the great evening.
We didn't want to leave, so we went to nearby mall walked around there, spent some money on useless things, joked around more, complained about some sellers and their attitude and only then parted our ways.

I am so happy today!!!

More than just music - sign language

I have always had a weakness for music. But especially I like to look and find some "hidden gems" - someone not that well known, but with big talent.

Lately songs performed in sign language have caught my attention. I usually only enjoyed listening to the song. I listened to words too, but I rarely heard them. But after "seeing" those words, the songs gained a new meaning for me. Here are few examples:

But this one was simply awesome! Awesome is kick-ass way!

Candle art

Now this is something! I want to learn to do something like that!

Sparkly stones

Which girl doesn't like jewelery and gems? Sure there are some who will say that those are just stones and some minerals. But nobody can deny that those minerals are really beautiful. I myself prefer blue gems...

The Star of India - The presence of the mineral rutile in the Star of India gives the stone its milky quality. This also yields the star effect, as tiny fibers of the mineral, aligned in a three-fold pattern within the gem, reflect incoming light in the star pattern. This effect is known as asterism, and, along with color, is one of the characteristics that makes star sapphires so highly prized. Such stones are polished in the domed shape you can see here, called a cabochon, to best reveal the star, which moves with changing angles of illumination and observation.

A Large Unnamed Star Sapphire - This large star sapphire has no apparent name. It appeared at Sotheby's Auction House in April of 2002. Here is what they ha
d to say about it:

"Star sapphire and diamond pendant-brooch, circa 1955. The large oval-shaped star sapphire cabochon weighing approximately 145.00 carats, within a frame set with 23 marquise-shaped, 1 round and 1 kite-shaped diamond weighing a total of approximately 23.00 carats, mounted in platinum, with pendant hook."

Hope Diamond - Legend tells that this diamond came from the eye of an statue of god in India. If it is so, then one can only conjecture that the eye must have had a mate, but the fate of other "eye" is unknown. It is also rumoured that this stone is cursed and its owner won't end well. By the way, know the movie Titanic? The beautiful Heart of the Ocean (necklace with blue stone) is based on Hope Diamond. No wonder that Titanic went down too...

Koh-I-Noor - Which British doesn't know the Koh-I-Noor! The amazing diamond, which shines in the royal crown? It has been said that who ever owns Koh-I-Noor is suitable to rule over whole world. There has been rummors that this stone was around at the time of Christ. These legends surely are suitable to one of the worlds most famous gems

The Tiffany Yellow Diamond - Not blue... but still really beautiful. The gem is high in fluorescence and retains rich colour in artificial light, but it is even more beautiful by day. However, it is important to draw a distinction between light yellow and yellowish diamonds and those of rare deeper canary yellow. The Tiffany Yellow remains one of the finest examples of the latter of the three. You can also see it in the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany"

The Crimson Heart of Siberia - The gem has received its name cause of its breathtaking and unique colour. It truly glows with crimson fire! This colour is indicative of high quality and rare rebellite tourmalines found in the Siberia region of Russia. Although it was held privately for and undisclosed period, now it is part of display of the House of Louis XV gem collection.

And those are only few of amazingly beautiful gems... Just dare to tell me that you didn't find even one of them beautiful!

Victory

"Victory at all costs,
Victory in spite of all terror,
Victory however long and hard the road may be;
For without victory there is no survival."

"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph."

Victory is victory no matter how small it may seem. Now just hope that this is victory, not just a trap!

Revelation!

Actually... when you know that there are some people who do read your blog... you kinda start to feel more motivated to write something! Lately I started to think what I could write, what I could say and what would be the best way to put it :)

When everyone wakes up....

I love night! Or more like really really early mornings. So early that you can't tell if night is over or not yet. I kinda get problems getting up that early, but if I get up that early, then I enjoy every little moment of it.
Why I like it? Cause of few reasons

City is sleeping. Get up at 4-6am and check it out. Even the most active and chaotic city is sleeping at this time period. Party people have fallen asleep at different possible and impossible places. Working people and students are still trying to get the last 5min of sleep. Streets are almost empty. Only few people are walking around, who seems to be misfitting in this peaceful sight. And even familiar sights seems so different and more beautiful in the light of rising sun. This peace reminds me of the feeling at the Saturday mornings when you can stay in bed under the blankets bit longer, without any reason to get up early and don't have to worry about upcoming work week as well... Thats the feeling I get to walk around the city that early. Drowsiness, peace, warmth and beauty.

Nature is waking up. Get out of city in early mornings and you will get quite different feeling, especially at spring and summer. While it does seem that nature around you is drowsy too, it is actually full of energy. All these little crickets has been up for oh so long! Bird chorus is so loud like an alarm clock which is trying to wake up everyone around. And slowly the foggy blanket disappears too...

Yea... That time period makes me poetical like some medieval troubadour who is singing odes of joy to the early mornings... lol

3 Guys

Today I was thinking about how many different people I have met and with how many of them I have become friends as well. 2+1 extraordinary guy friend I have...

I know dirty minded bunny who curses like a sailor and is game addict. At the same time he is a person with who I can talk about whatever and I can be 100% that he will understand me and will be on my side. Need to get a bit of confidence back? I just have to go to talk with him and he covers me with compliments (he says - if it is truth, then is it compliment?). Cause of all this... I really hope that he will get to fix his life at last. He deserves some love and care from a lovely bunny girl!

There is a little bit crazy French guy, who really likes red-headed girls, dancing and bikes. He is slightly younger than me so I just can't help but to treat him as little brother. Though, I don't think that my little brother would give me links to sites with revealing girls and guys. And I probably wouldn't discuss what kind of breast size guys prefer or about what kind guy body girls like with my little brother. Our fooling is just fun fun fun! But I still hope that he will find a girl soon... I am running out of excuses why I am not going to France. Actually, he is quite good looking... wonder why he is single.

And there is my stalker, self proclaimed Nr.2 (he was trying to get Nr.1 spot too...). I think he would win the first prize at fast typing, fast talking contests. I think I knew more about their relationships than the girls he was dating or trying to date. Daily hearing " what do you think about this?","Do you think she still loves me?", "Why she isn't responding at the same moment I ask something?", "Why she isn't spending her every free moment with me?", "Ask her what she thinks about me".... and I didn't even know the girls... Well, at the moment I am happy that he stopped to send me messages! Yay!

Wisdom in comedy

"Lord, give me strength to change the things I can, courage to accept the things I can't and wisdom to see the difference"

A wise comment from a kinda funny movie, which came in the right time. For now I will accept what I can't change... but in the mean time I will work on what I can change. And who knows... Maybe tomorrow or day after tomorrow the bothersome things will disappear on their own.
Just wait and see.... I haven't fully given up yet!

Yesterday at the end of So long, but so good I mentioned something about reality kicking in... I knew it... That if I have some really great day, then next one is really bad one. I keep getting bad and disturbing news today...

New and creepy interest?

I got a new interest! Criminology!
Yesterday my brother started to watch The Walking Dead and we somehow started to talk about zombies. And somehow it ended up me trying to figure out in how long time they would decompose as then it would be an end to zombie apocalypses, right? If they are too rotten to walk around, they are harmless.
So today it was still bugging me and I started to read up on decomposition of dead bodies. Came to conclusion that it is more complicated matter than it seems to be and it needs to be checked into it. And why only check on decomposition, if I can check this matter wider? Lets find some materials about criminology as whole!
Who is with me? :P

So long, but so good!

This day was so long.... Cooking in the morning, then visiting doctor and then spending few hours at university's library, not counting hour trip to uni and hour back...

But at the same time this day was so great! Weather was almost perfect - sun was shining, blue skies with only few clouds somewhere, snow all around. Everything today went flawlessly as well! And people seemed so kind and happy too. Or maybe they seemed like that just cause I beamed them with my great mood and wonderful smile so they just couldn't resist me, smiled at me and treated me so kindly.

On the way back I was thinking that this day is so great! so nice!.... that reality should kick in. And it did, when I got home - my right shoulder got kinda stiff and slightly aching. Guess long day affected that shot damaged shoulder...

But I am still happy about today :) Now just put on some nice music and do something relaxing!

Fresh start?

A friend of mine infected with idea of blogging again. Haven't seriously done it for quite long and I still don't know about what I could write.
Idea of writing about what I ate in breakfasts seems silly... unless I put it in a way as Maia-dear did. Maybe about my exciting trips in public transportation? "Today I went to, you won't believe, to station and waited for tram for 5min! I had to drive in it for 25min with just as exciting people as always...." ... No, thank you...

I guess I will stick to the idea of writing about what catches my attention and what I find interesting and important. Why tell the same thing to multiple people if I can tell it to whole world in one go? Yay?

Ready or not, here I come! (again...)

P.S.
I am taking bets about how long I will last...
